My 'Old-Fashioned' Self
God is never changing. He, thankfully, is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. The devil is never changing too. He has not changed from his wily serpentine ways in the days of the Garden of Eden: his plan still remains to separate mankind from the love of God and to take it down with him to the fiery pits of hell.
The devil's lie to mankind right now is the equation of moral bankruptcy with modernization. What's so hip about sodomy, walking around naked, killing innocent babies, behaving like the opposite sex, ad inifitum? I was particularly incensed when the facilitator of a particular workshop I had attended passionately defended the gay movement by saying people (meaning me and other 'old-fashioned' persons like myself ) should change with the times. She aggravated the matter further by asserting that the Bible was written by human beings who are subject to change and we should therefore not take what is written in it as the gospel truth since some of what is written in it no longer holds valid for the present times! Oh brother!
I am particularly glad I am 'old-fashioned.' My sole objective is to serve a never changing God and being 'old-fashioned' to do this suits me just fine.
